The Research and Engineering Center was founded in 1990 and brought together scientists of various chairs of St. Petersburg State Electro-Technical University (LETI) and specialists from research institutes engaged in development of data collection, processing, analysis, and interpretation systems.
Research assistants, professors, postgraduates of different departments of MOEVM, ВМ-1, VT LETI, military specialists who were in service on ranges, cosmodromes, and in the research institute formed the basis of the Company's scientific and production team. It allowed to create a unique team capable of resolving critical tasks in development, production and delivery of civilian automated information and computing systems as well as of systems of military application to be used in automation of range tests of promising samples of missile-space appliances.
In 1995, the Scientific and Engineering Center was re-established as St. Petersburg State Electro-Technical University Scientific and Engineering Center (state enterprise).
Till December 23, 2004, the legal form of incorporation of the enterprise was St. Petersburg State Electro-Technical University Scientific and Engineering Center (state enterprise) (REC SETU SEC), which was transformed into St. Petersburg State Electro-Technical University Scientific and Engineering Center Open Joint Stock Company (REC SETU SEC OJSC).
Over 22 years in existence, the Company managed to become the leader in IT, being a systemic integrator and developer of information ware and software for computing systems and automated data processing systems. SEC is among the top enterprises of the industry in development and maintenance of information systems for regional governmental authorities and defense industry.
